Many times you don’t need a miracle, you just need each other.
It began in March 2009, when two high school students in Tonganoxie, Kansas, faced very serious medical issues. A few weeks later, a third student passed away suddenly due to a health issue. Team Tongie began and is still going strong. It became the way for Tonganoxie residents to pull together, help their neighbors and do whatever they could to help these families through trying times.
Team Tongie provides funds to families facing serious health and medical issues, and also partners with other community organizations to provide assistance. Assistance is used for transportation to doctor appointments and treatments, paying for medication, and helping with other day-to-day expenses while a family member is ill or unable to work. To date, more than $117,000 has been given to Tonganoxie residents and families.
How can I help? Team Tongie is a 501(c)(3) public charity. Contributions are tax deductible under Section 170 of the Internal Revenue Code. Team Tongie also is a United Way agency in Leavenworth County, Kansas.
